Ghost Moons
Earth may have a pair of of ‘ghost moons’ translucent clouds of dust that orbit along with moon. These clouds, which could be upto 100,000 kilometers across, were predicted in 1951, and recent pictures seems to show that they exist.
The haze dust spread across many thousands of kilometers cannot be seen by a nascent eye.
The recent picture were obtained by astronomers of
Eötvöś Lorànd University. The astronomers are Gabor Horvath and Judit Sliz-Balogh.
These recent pictures were published on 2nd of October in journal of Royal Astronomers Society, Monthly Notices.
They may not look like moon but these clouds are roughly at same distance from earth.
These clouds have been named Kordylewski clouds.
